RECEIVE THE POWER TO LIVE IN VICTORY 24/7
There is a gift from God that He reserves only for His children – those who have been born-again by making Jesus the Lord and Savior of their lives. Its called several things in the Bible. Being “filled” with the Holy Spirit, or being “baptized” with the Holy Spirit, or “receiving” the Holy Spirit. All these terms talk about the same gift God offers every Christian – an infusion of power to supernaturally enable you to do more, pray more effectively, and accomplish as much as possible for the Lord while living here on earth. If you want to live in victory 24/7 against the devil and his demons, this is a gift you must have from God! That’s why He offers it, and why you should take it!
When Paul came to the city of Ephesus, the first question he asked was “Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?” (Acts 19:2). I ask you the same question! You see, every Christian has been born of the Holy Spirit, but there is a subsequent gift offered by God, called being filled with the Holy Spirit. Being born of the Spirit is the necessary first step – receiving eternal life through His indwelling presence. But after that, God wants to infuse you with supernatural power – for witnessing, for ministry, for power-packed living and victory over the enemy, who is the devil.
Acts 2:4, Acts 2:11, Acts 10:44-46 and Acts 19:6 shows you what happens when you receive this great gift offered by God in His Word. When you ask the Lord to be filled with Holy Spirit, He DOES EXACTLY THAT! And when filled, not only will you be filled with the Holy Spirit in ways that go beyond just being a nominal Christian, but you’ll receive from heaven a language called tongues, which is a Divine expression of communication between your spirit and God directly! 1 Corinthians 14:2 says we when we pray in tongues, we’re speaking mysteries to God. The Holy Spirit gives you the utterance, and you just speak it out! He doesn’t make you do it – He only encourages you to do it, so that at any time, you can enter into a wonderful and Divinely inspired conversation or prayer with your Heavenly Father. You are actually in partnership with the Holy Spirit in prayer to God! He gives you the words, and you speak them out!
I pray in tongues daily, as does my wife and all our staff. We want you to experience this wonderful gift too. Just lift up your heart to God, and pray a simple prayer like the one below. When finished, begin to pray out of your heart, and let the Holy Spirit give you the words to speak. They will not be words you know in your head, but words coming from your heart to the Lord. They will not be any languages you know from your intellect, but they’ll come up from out of your spirit, deep down inside! Its what the Bible calls Tongues!
Do you want all that God has for you? I do, and I pray you do too! I can tell you that in my own life, praying in tongues has been the most wonderful way for me to charge up my spirit, pray directly to God in a language only He understands, and helps me stay strong day-by-day against my adversary, the devil. It’s a wonderful weapon that you should receive and take full advantage of! Let’s pray! Say this out loud, and when finished, expect to be filled with God’s Spirit for supernatural praying, and supernatural service to Him!
Dear Lord Jesus, I come to you in simple faith, asking you to fill me with Your Holy Spirit. I want everything you have for me Lord, and therefore, I believe that You hear this prayer, and baptize me with the Holy Spirit. I receive Him now in all His fullness, and I believe I have been filled! I open my heart to Him, asking the Holy Spirit to share words with me that I can begin to pray out to You, my Lord Jesus. Thank you Lord. I am filled, and I will begin to exercise this great gift by praying in tongues every day, and sharing my faith with boldness. Amen!
If you prayed that prayer in all sincerity, then believe you have what you have asked for! You’ve asked to be filled with the Holy Spirit, and therefore, YOU ARE! Now, begin to exercise that great gift daily by praying in tongues whenever you can, and as often as you can. You’ll find that as you yield to the Holy Spirit, cooperate with Him, and begin to pray in tongues more and more, you’ll get better and better at doing it, just like the more you practice speaking a foreign language, the better you become at speaking it. And as you do this, you’ll see a newfound boldness and sense of victory rise up within you as a Christian. This is the main purpose for the gift – to empower all of us as believers, to boldly live our lives and share Jesus with those around us.
